Water testing for lead

- Use an NSF certified home lead testing kit. Collect samples from faucets used for drinking and cooking.
- Follow all test kit instructions.
- Test both filtered and unfiltered water – This checks lead levels from the main supply and whether filtration systems are effectively removing lead.
- Retest annually – Lead levels can vary over time as pipes corrode more. Annual testing ensures your water is consistently safe.
