BSRHA is now accepting applications for the 2026 Housing Preservation Grant. This year we will be awarding three $25,000 grants to low-income homeowners and three $25,000 grants to medium-income homeowners. If you applied in the past, you must re-apply this year.

Bering Straits Regional Housing Authority - Housing Preservation Grant Application - 2026

In order to be eligible you must:
  • Be a member of a BSRHA participating Tribe.
  • Own the home and live in it full-time (no mortgage)
  • Not be the recipient of any other federal housing assistance.
  • Agree to sign a legal document saying you won't sell your home for five years after the project is complete.
  • Agree to do the work yourself or have a qualified contractor or tradesman do it (BSRHA will not do the work).
